# How to give points for spending

When you choose the Points Per Spending option, here’s how you can award points to your customers:

**Scan the Customer’s QR Code**

* In the Authic admin app, tap the “Give Points” button.
* Use your device’s camera to scan the customer’s QR code.

**Enter the Amount Spent**

* After scanning, the app will prompt you to enter the amount the customer spent (e.g., €25.00).
* Make sure to enter the correct amount to ensure accurate points allocation.

**Confirm the Transaction**

* Double-check the amount, then hit **“Confirm”** to finalize the transaction.
* The app will automatically calculate the **number of points** based on your configured points-per-euro (or other currency) rate.

**Customer Receives Points Instantly**

* The customer’s loyalty account will be instantly updated with their new points balance.
* They’ll see this reflected in their app right away!

**💡 Tips for Smooth Operations:**

* Train your staff to always double-check the amount entered before confirming.
* If your customers are used to tipping, clarify whether tips are included in the points calculation or not.
* Encourage staff to remind customers they’ve earned points, this reinforces the program and boosts engagement!
